Oh, if you\u00b4re not familiar with what <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Duct_tape\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Duct Tape is, Wikipedia can tell..<\/a><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Duct Tapers\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0aren&#8217;t bad employees, they just find themselves with a\u00a0special kind of Bullshit Job, created to patch holes in how information, processes, and accountability flow. They\u2019re solving the same problem for the 12th time this month. Because the root cause was never fixed.<\/p><p>Now, of course no manager sets out to build a team full of fluff&#8230; but still they&#8217;re out there. Twelve years after David Greaber wrote his book &#8211; not much have improved.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p><p>Let us shed some light on this with a short quiz, we know it sounds like a stupid click bait, but within the next minute you&#8217;ll probably find it enlightening.\u00a0<\/p><blockquote data-start=\"194\" data-end=\"272\"><p data-start=\"196\" data-end=\"272\">Be honest. No judgment.<em> (Unless you&#8217;re still emailing PDFs with instructions)<\/em>.<\/p><p data-start=\"196\" data-end=\"272\">Here we go<\/p><\/blockquote><hr data-start=\"274\" data-end=\"277\" \/><h2 data-start=\"279\" data-end=\"297\">Question 1:<\/h2><p data-start=\"298\" data-end=\"370\"><strong>When your frontline teams need a checklist or instruction, what happens?<\/strong><\/p><p data-start=\"372\" data-end=\"535\">A) They get a push in the App, it&#8217;s right there, targeted by role and location.<br data-start=\"429\" data-end=\"432\" \/>B) They ask their manager, who prints something from \u201ca folder, somewhere.\u201d<br data-start=\"496\" data-end=\"499\" \/>C) You hear, \u201cWait, what checklist?\u201d<\/p><hr data-start=\"537\" data-end=\"540\" \/><h2 data-start=\"542\" data-end=\"560\">Question 2:<\/h2><p data-start=\"561\" data-end=\"637\"><strong>How do you know if brand standards are being followed at all your locations?<\/strong><\/p><p data-start=\"639\" data-end=\"803\">A) I see verified checklists and photo proof every day.<br data-start=\"694\" data-end=\"697\" \/>B) We send out a reminder email and hope for the best, or John drives 400 miles.<br data-start=\"751\" data-end=\"754\" \/>C) We find out when customers complain on Google.<\/p><hr data-start=\"805\" data-end=\"808\" \/><h2 data-start=\"810\" data-end=\"828\">Question 3:<\/h2><p data-start=\"829\" data-end=\"892\"><strong>How do you distribute updated SOPs, price lists, or guidelines?<\/strong><\/p><p data-start=\"894\" data-end=\"1070\">A) Via a structured system with version control, role access and read-tracking.<br data-start=\"960\" data-end=\"963\" \/>B) Email. Then maybe WhatsApp. Then we call. Then we cry.<br data-start=\"1017\" data-end=\"1020\" \/>C) We don\u2019t. Some locations still think it\u2019s 2022.<\/p><hr data-start=\"1072\" data-end=\"1075\" \/><h2 data-start=\"1077\" data-end=\"1095\">Question 4:<\/h2><p data-start=\"1096\" data-end=\"1182\"><strong>When something goes wrong (e.g., missed promo, uncleaned area), your first thought is:<\/strong><\/p><p data-start=\"1184\" data-end=\"1286\">A) \u201cLet\u2019s check the log for verified tasks.\u201d<br data-start=\"1216\" data-end=\"1219\" \/>B) \u201cLet me call someone and ask who was working.\u201d<br data-start=\"1260\" data-end=\"1263\" \/>C) \u201cOh god, not again\u2026\u201d<\/p><hr data-start=\"1288\" data-end=\"1291\" \/><h2 data-start=\"1293\" data-end=\"1311\">Question 5:<\/h2><p data-start=\"1312\" data-end=\"1390\"><strong>How many people in your org spend time chasing things that should just <em data-start=\"1383\" data-end=\"1389\">work<\/em>?<\/strong><\/p><p data-start=\"1392\" data-end=\"1524\">A) Zero. Some of your team members are officially duct tapers.
